The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, in a press release issued on the occasion of the International Day of Human Fraternity on February 4, reinforced its firm commitment to the promotion of tolerance values that strengthen the spirit of human fraternity and consolidate peace in all parts of the world.
The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (CGTP) emphasizes that the International Day of Human Fraternity is an opportunity to rediscover human tolerance values and renew commitment to overcoming all forms of hatred and fanaticism used amongst enemies of peace. It is also a time to reflect on the values that unite the human family in every corner of the globe, regardless of confessional or cultural differences.
H.E. Ahmed Bin Mohamed Al Jarwan, President of the Council, highlighted the importance of commemorating and remembering the noble values proclaimed in the Document on Human Fraternity, which was signed in Abu Dhabi on February 4, 2019 by Pope Francis and Ahmed Al Tayyeb, Grand Imam of Al Azhar.. A document that laid the groundwork for revisiting human fraternity and mitigating differences, divisions, and conflicts in order to achieve peaceful and sustainable coexistence.
The GCTP recognizes the UAE’s pioneering and pivotal role in promoting tolerance and peace values, and congratulates the country’s dedicated efforts in this area under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan,President of the UAE.
In this regard, the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace appreciated the message delivered by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterreson the occasion of the International Day of Human Fraternity, in which he considers the Document on Human Fraternity as a source of inspiration to resume our commitment to becoming a united human family and creating an alliance for peace that enriches our diversity and strengthens our solidarity.
