H.E. Ahmed bin Muhammad Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP) and H.E. Ambassador Moushira Khattab, President of the Egyptian National Council for Human Rights, signed a memorandum of understanding and joint action with the aim of strengthening relations between the two institutions and establishing a framework of cooperation to spread the culture of tolerance and peace, supporting human rights efforts in the region and the world.
During the meeting, which was held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, Al Jarwan reviewed the most outstanding efforts made by the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace. Global Council for Tolerance and Peace to support the values and culture of love, peace and tolerance around the world.
The CGTP president also explained the most important initiatives and projects in which this organization participates in various countries around the world, with the aim of promoting peaceful coexistence and tolerance, and praised the role of the Egyptian National Council for Human Rights both in that country and in the rest of the world.
For her part, Her Excellency the ambassador Khattab stressed the importance of disseminating and promoting human rights principles, highlighted the role of the National Human Rights Council in this regard and valued the memorandum of understanding for laying the groundwork for cooperation with this body and its various organs.

The Egyptian official also praised the provisions of the signed memorandum of understanding, which is the basis for future collaboration between the UN council and the GCTP and its various relevant bodies; and applauded the hard efforts of the GCTP in strengthening the culture of coexistence, peace and tolerance in the different countries of the world, through diplomacy, dialogue and the promotion of human rights.
The articles of the signed Memorandum of Understanding establish the framework for future bilateral collaboration between the two institutions, to disseminate the culture of human rights, tolerance and peace; and to promote and protect such culture. In addition, they define the cooperation between the two parties to develop and promote human rights subjects for students in schools and to present the Master’s Program in Tolerance, Peace and Human Rights StudiesThe purpose of the seminars is to promote the values of tolerance, peace and human rights in the region and in the world.
The signing ceremony was also attended by the Secretary General of the National Council for Human Rights of Egypt, Ambassador Fahmy FayedThe vice-president of the Egyptian Human Rights Council, ambassador of Egypt, Ambassador Mahmoud KaramThe president of the General Assembly of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, H. E. Hajar Abu Jabal; the Undersecretary of Youth and Sports; the Secretary General of the Egyptian Higher Council for Culture, along with several Egyptian university rectors and heads of civil society organizations and local media.
