The President of the Republic of Mozambique, H.E. Filipe Jacinto Nyussi, received at the presidential palace in the capital Maputo, the President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP), H.E. Ahmed Bin Mohamed Al Jarwan, and the accompanying delegation, which included the President of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP) – and one of the main bodies of the GCTP – H.E. Zubeiri Mohamed Ahmed.
The President of Mozambique welcomed Al Jarwan and the accompanying delegation, underlining his country’s support for the vision and noble objectives of the GCTP, aimed at combating extremism and terrorism and consolidating and promoting peace, development and stability. The President of Mozambique also stressed his country’s willingness to collaborate with the GCTP in all areas to promote the culture of peace and tolerance in Africa and throughout the world.
In this regard, Ahmed Al Jarwan expressed his gratitude to the President of Mozambique for the warm welcome and generous hospitality in the African country, applauding the efforts made by Mozambique and Mozambique’s support to the GCTP. Al Jarwan also praised Mozambique’s role in combating terrorism and extremism, and the country’s efforts to expand the culture of tolerance, dialogue, sustainable development and peace.
At the end of the meeting, Ahmed Al Jarwan presented the President of Mozambique with the coat of arms of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace.
