The President of the Congress of the Republic, Eduardo Salhuana Cavides, signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP) and the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP).

The head of Parliament highlighted Peru’s pacifist vocation and tradition and, in this sense, expressed his satisfaction at signing the aforementioned memorandum.
The international organisation was represented by its president, H.E. Ahmed Bin Mohamed Aljarwan, a citizen of Saudi Arabia.

The ceremony, held in the Office of the Presidency of the Congress, was attended by the third vice-president of the Parliament, Alejandro Cavero Alva, and the former president of the Congress, María del Carmen Alva Prieto.
