(Madrid, 30-31 October 2025)
The Foundation for Culture and Religious Tolerance had the honour of participating in the First Conference on the Ibero-American Future, held in Madrid on 30 and 31 October at the renowned Casa de América, organised by the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB) and the Foundation for Encounters with the Future (FEF).

This conference brought together some of the most prominent voices in Latin America and Europe: renowned scientists, thinkers, academics, and political and social leaders. Among the participants were illustrious names such as Nobel Prize winner in Physics Serge Haroche, neuroscientist Mariano Sigman, former footballer and lecturer Jorge Valdano, as well as prominent figures in Ibero-American politics such as Michelle Bachelet and Josep Borrell.
One of the highlights of the conference was the speech by His Majesty King Felipe VI, who participated on the second day and expressed his clear support for the Chilean model of dialogue between science, politics and society. The King emphasised the need to strengthen cooperation in strategic areas such as digital transformation, sustainability and social development, noting that this first edition of the Ibero-American Conference represented ‘a valuable opportunity to continue reflecting together on Latin America’s role in the world.’ He also expressed his institutional appreciation for the efforts of SEGIB and FEF in promoting this forum as a permanent space for reflection, knowledge and joint action.
For our organisation, our presence at such an important forum underscores our commitment to knowledge-based dialogue and intercultural cooperation. At a time when global challenges require the mobilisation of collective thinking in all areas, we believe that science, culture and tolerance must advance hand in hand.
With the participation of prominent figures and the support of high-level institutions, we consider this conference to be a historic milestone for Latin America: not only as a platform for ideas, but as a space for translating ideas into concrete and lasting projects. The Foundation for Culture and Religious Tolerance will continue its commitment to initiatives and partnerships that promote coexistence, diversity and the building of a shared future.
