The Foundation for Islamic Culture & Religious Tolerance (FICRT) in Spain is organizing a cultural symposium entitled “The Abrahamic Family: Peace and Dialogue” on Monday, September 14, 2020, at 6 p.m., Spanish time, via the Zoom platform.
Through their academic interventions, the speakers at this symposium will address diverse and highly relevant issues. Dr. Alfred Gutiérrez-Kavanagh, president of the Foundation for Islamic Culture & Religious Tolerance (FICRT), will moderate the event.
Dr. Muhammad Matar Al-Kaabi, chairman of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Awqaf of the United Arab Emirates, will present an academic paper entitled “The Emirati-Israeli Treaty in the Light of the Prophetic Treaties”. For his part, Mr. Mohamed Ajana El Ouafi, Secretary General of the Islamic Commission of Spain, will give a speech entitled “Peaceful treaties and their role in achieving coexistence and contact between civilizations”.
Dr. Javier Fernández Vallina, professor at the Complutense University of Madrid and director of the Department of Linguistics, Arabic and Hebrew Studies at the same university, will address “The common bonds between the Abrahamic religions and their use… Judaism as a model”. Dr. Carmen López Alonso, Professor Emeritus of the Complutense University of Madrid and Researcher at the Institute of Religious Sciences, will speak on “The importance of interreligious communication and cooperation and the role of Christianity in its promotion”.
The cultural symposium “The Abrahamic Family: Peace and Dialogue” will be closed by Sr. Jumaa Al Kaabi, director general of the Foundation for Islamic Culture & Religious Tolerance (FICRT).
