The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, in a press release issued on the occasion of the International Day of Human Fraternity on February 4, reinforced its firm commitment to the promotion of tolerance values that strengthen the spirit of human fraternity and consolidate peace in all parts of the world.
The continued presence of Muslim civilization for more than seven centuries in our country, a period in which thought and the arts flourished, has left an indelible legacy in Spanish culture and language. The fundamental element in this legacy has been the Arabic language, one of the most widely spoken languages in the world and one of the six official languages of the UN.
On November 28th, a workshop on Islamic Geometry was held at the Espacio Interreligioso-Casa San Ignacio in Madrid, organized by the FICRT Foundation and Pueblos Unidos, and taught by professionals from the organization Sexto Mario. This is a cultural initiative promoted by these organizations, which aims to promote knowledge of history through an artistic activity of a didactic nature.
In 1995, UNESCO member countries adopted the Declaration of Principles on Tolerance. That same year was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly as the Year for Tolerance and, taking advantage of the 125th anniversary of Gandhi’s birth, December 16 was declared the International Day for Tolerance.

The new ambassador of the League of Arab States in Madrid, Malek Twal, visited the headquarters of the FICRT Foundation on June 29, where he was welcomed by its president, Jumaa AlKaabi.
Jumaa AlKaabi, president of the FICRT Foundation, and Hassan Handi, president of the Abrazando Ilusiones Foundation, signed a collaboration agreement on June 24 during the latter’s visit to the FICRT headquarters.
On May 11, the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Spain, Muhammad Najib, paid a visit to the FICRT Foundation’s headquarters and met with the Foundation’s President, Jumaa AlKaabi, over breakfast.
