The FICRT Foundation together with the Al-Tasamoh Islamic Religious Denomination and the Sheikh Zayed bin Soltan Mosque donate more than 7 tons of food to families in Cordoba.

Together they work in coordination with other foundations and associations so that the total food aid, which amounts to around 40 tons, is distributed in several Spanish cities.

With this food donation, we hope to contribute to alleviate the plight of many families as much as possible.

The Foundation for Islamic Culture and Religious Tolerance (FICRT) together with the Islamic Religious Denomination Al-Tasamoh and the Sheikh Zayed bin Soltan Mosque in Granada donate more than 7 tons of food to be distributed among families in Cordoba.

Aware that the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic is hitting the most disadvantaged, the three institutions are working with other Spanish foundations and associations to deliver nearly 40 tons of food to the neediest families in several Spanish cities.

In the case of Cordoba, this strong economic impact is affecting the most disadvantaged to a greater extent and this crisis has caused many people in Cordoba to become destitute. Hence, both the Foundation for Islamic Culture and Religious Tolerance (FICRT) and the Islamic Religious Confession Al-Tasamoh and the Mosque of Sheikh Zayed bin Soltan in Granada have taken this initiative to Cordoba, in which they wish to collaborate and help those who are suffering the most from the crisis.

In the words of the President of the Foundation, Mr. Alfred G. Kavanagh, “in the midst of the pain and suffering caused by the virus, there is also a space for hope that grows every day through the unity of citizens in adversity and the generosity of so many people who collaborate in solidarity initiatives such as this one”.

The total aid from the FICRT Foundation, Al-Tasamoh and Sheikh Zayed bin Soltan Mosque amounts to about 40 tons of food and is being distributed in the provinces of Madrid, Granada, Cordoba and Valencia. However, direct distribution to families is done through local associations such as Banco de Alimentos and Asociación Addiffatayn in Córdoba.
